Inspired by Women's History Month in October, this Girlz Group session will give the girls an opportunity to talk about thier favourite women of our community, as well as meet some amazing women from the Golden Fire Hall and Golden Ambulance Service. The girls will be given the opportunity t make their own instruments and play with an amazing singer/song writer from Golden; create their own comic book, with a 'she-roe' of their own design; dress up as their favourite female character during our pizza party night, and participate in a Scrabble Benefit for the Rockies for African Gogo's group who raise money from Grandmother's in Africa taking care of their grandchildren.
Some issues that are planned for discussion are overcoming challenges, during which we will talk about women who break through barriers like the amazing Helen Keller and taking action through standing up for what you believe in.
We'll be overcoming a challenging obstacle course of our own, explore self expression through t-shirt making and painting and add to our amazing women of Golden scrapbook.
